• Stream: SlowPlaceLikeHome – Luna

    Having caught our ear a few months back, Donegal producer Keith Mannion AKA SlowPlaceLikeHome has released his second single proper, the beguiling ‘Luna’. Lifted from Mannion’s forthcoming debut album, titled Romola, the track is a wonderfully phantasmal release, capturing a more fleshed-out, concentrated songwriting approach.   • Summer Heart to play Whelan’s

    Upbeat Swedish dream-poppers Summer Heart will be paying Dublin a visit later on this year. The group – a project of David Alexander – will perform at Whelan’s on October 3.   • The Boxer Rebellion set for Dublin

    London-formed indie quartet The Boxer Rebellion have announced a Dublin show in October. The band will be playing at The Academy on October 4. Tickets are priced at €14 and are on sale now. The bands last album, Promises, was released in February last year. Have a look at the video for ‘Diamonds’ below.  

  • Interpol announce Dublin show

    New York post-punk revivalists Interpol have announced details of their new album, as well as a European tour that will include a stop in Dublin. Interpol will be releasing their fifth studio album, El Pintor, on September 5 before embarking on a European tour at the start of next year. Dublin will be the final stop for the band, on February 10. The Olympia Theatre is the venue for the band, and tickets, on sale Friday July 18, will cost €39.05.   • The Smuggest Album Ever Made: Pink Floyd’s The Division Bell

    Apparently, Pink Floyd are set to release new music. Well, ‘new’ music. It says so on Polly Samson’s Twitter. And frankly, she should know. After all, she wrote most of The Division Bell, and now lists herself as the writer of something called The Endless River, a record made by her husband David Gilmour, featuring various other people, and credited to Pink Floyd. And if all this turns out to be the case (which it does) then there’s every chance that music fans are in for a pretty grim Autumn, as another catastrophically over-content monstrosity will be dumped upon us,…
