Following two sold out solo shows in August at the venue, singer-songwriter Glen Hansard plays a big band show on December 17 & 18 at Vicar Street.

He's obviously well-known for his 25 years in The Frames, as well as his actor/musician role in the film Once and its accompanying folk project, The Swell Season, which earned him a number of awards and nominations. Hansard quit school at 13 to busk on Dublin streets, forming the Frames in 1990 and appearing in The Commitments the following year after attending the New York Film Academy School of Acting. He's went on to become an national institution for songwriters.

His first solo album, Rhythm and Repose came out in 2012, and was followed up by the aforementioned Didn't He Ramble in 2015. Check out the video for 'Winning Streak'.

Tickets cost €40 from Ticketmaster. Doors open at 7.30pm.
