One of the most important acts in the 2-Tone ska movement, The Selecter, have announced a return for their 40th anniversary, playing The Academy on November 2.
Formed in Coventry in 1979, The Selecter were politically and socially charged by the vocals of rude girl Pauline Black. They were one of the most successful acts of the 2 Tone era despite releasing just 2 albums, with hits like 'On My Radio'. They disbanded in 1981 and split into Pauline Black's Selecter songwriter Neol Davies' Selecter after a reunion in 1991.
They'll be joined on the night by DJ Rhoda Dakar, best known as the singer for 2 Tone act The Bodysnatchers.
