    At the end of 2016’s Post Pop Depression, his finest work since the 1970s, Iggy Pop tells us he’s going to Paraguay – to where “there’s not so much fucking knowledge”, “people are still human beings”, and he can “heal” himself, sick of political fearmongering, internet commentators, and cheating executives. Some took the promise of his disappearance – if not his mythical Paraguay – seriously, wondering if this was the last we’d hear from the Stooges frontman, who has now been releasing records for a half-century. Pop seems to have wondered the same himself, telling the New Yorker recently that he’d felt burnt…

  • Watch: Ryan Vail – Free

    Derry electronic duo Ryan Vail (comprised of Katie Cosgrove and Vail himself) have unveiled the video to their new single, ‘Free’. Directed by Giles Labarbe, the typically shadowy and nocturnal video is, in the director’s own words, “about the freedom that one might experience while losing a connection with someone close. Its aesthetics reflect the various styles blended in Ryan Vail’s track.” Watch the video for the song – released via Champion Sound Records – below.

    Ahead of a pretty hefty U.S. and European tour David Byrne and St. Vincent have made their Brass Tactics EP available to download for free online. A collaborative release alongside their superb 2012 full-length debut Love This Giant, the EP consists of two remix tracks, two live tracks (including Talking Heads’ ‘Road To Nowhere’ and a previously unreleased track from Love This Giant.
