• The Record #003: Empty Lungs

In the third installment of The Record, Liam Kielt tottered along to Belfast’s Start Together Studio to capture alt-punk band Empty Lungs laying down some new songs for a forthcoming release. Have a gander at those shots and Brian Coney’s interview with Kevin Jones from the band below. And once you’re finished, feel free to check out our in-studio pieces with the equally excellent Bouts and Jape! Hi Kev. Liam captured you guys recording at Start Together studio late last year. What were you guys recording and when can we expect to hear it? We were recording two new tracks…

  • In Photos: The Thin Air Showcase feat. Our Krypton Son, Arborist, The Wood Burning Savages & Rory Nellis

Belfast-based photographer Diarmuid Kennedy was in attendance to capture our showcase at The Pavilion, Belfast as part of this year’s Belfast Music Week. Performing on the night were Rory Nellis, a fast-rising singer-songwriter – also frontman with Belfast-based indie pop four-piece Seven Summits – impressively progressing Derry-based quartet The Wood Burning Savages, the wonderfully Autumnal song of Belfast band Arborist and the ever magnificent Our Krypton Son AKA Derry singer-songwriter Chris McConaghy. Check out Diarmuid’s photos from the night below.

  • The National @ The 02, Dublin

Dublin-based photographer Mark Earley was in attendance to shoot (not with a gun – it’s ok) U.S. indie rock band The National at Dublin’s 02 on Sunday, November 10. Check out his suitably stunning photo set below.

  • PigsAsPeople, El Ten Eleven, Droids @ Radar

Gentleman, scholar and masterful photographer Diarmuid Kennedy was there to capture Belfast-based three-piece PigsAsPeople launch their Idles & Us EP at Belfast’s Radar on Thursday, October 26. Rather inexplicable support came from U.S. post rock duo El Ten Eleven (bassist/guitarist Kristian Dunn, above) and Derry riffmasters Droids. Check out Diarmuid’s photos below!
