• James Blake set for Dublin and Belfast

    Having released his stellar third album, The Colour in Anything, last month, James Blake will kick off a UK and Ireland October/November tour with two Irish dates. Five years on from making his Irish debut at Whelan’s in March, 2011 (we’d love to say we were in attendance – alas) Blake will play Dublin”s Olympia on October 27 and make his Belfast debut on October 28. Tickets go on sale this Friday at 9am, priced €37.00/£19.50.

  • Lisa Hannigan Announces Irish Dates

    In which she will preview songs from her forthcoming, highly-anticipated third studio album, Lisa Hannigan will play a string of 16 Irish dates this June. Kicking off at Kildare’s Riverbank Theatre on June 2 and culminating at Galway’s Roisin Dubh 23 days later on June 24 the tour will mark Hannigan’s first Irish dates since 2012.   • Michael Kiwanuka Set For Ireland

    With his highly-anticipated second album, Love & Hate, set for release via Polydor on May 27, Michael Kiwanuka has announced that he will return to Ireland this Autumn to play shows at Belfast’s Limelight 2 on Friday, October 14 and Dublin’s Academy on Saturday, October 15. Tickets for both shows on sale this Friday, April 8 at 9am priced £15 + BF and €22.00+ respectively.   • Girl Band Announce String of New Dates

    Having had to pulled out of European and Northern American dates due to “health issues in the band” last month Dublin noise-rock masters Girl Band have announced a string of new dates for 2016, culminating at their biggest show in Ireland to date at Vicar Street on Friday, April 1. The Dara Kiely-fronted band have also unveiled a live Rough Trade session version of ‘Baloo’, a highlight on the band’s critically-acclaimed debut album, Holding Hands With Jamie.   • Robyn G Shiels Announces New Dates, Collaboration Album

    When it rains for Belfast-based acoustic doom master Robyn G Shiels, it pours. As well as a downright unmissable “Alternative New Year’s Grieve Party” at Belfast’ Sunflower Bar with Hornby Ban Jovi AKA Hornby of The Continuous Battle of Order, Heliopause and a DJ set from Documenta’s Joe Greene,  Shiels will continue his excellently-titled November Reign Tour throughout November (see dates below), including a performance at the Jarman Award Whitechapel Weekend in London on November 21.   • Other Voices Reveal First Acts For Dingle 2015

    Now well and truly an Irish musical institution after 14 years, Other Voices have revealed the first acts to play their return to Dingle from December 4 to December 6. With many more acts yet to be revealed, Richard Hawley, Gaz Coombes, Gavin James, Lapsley and Otherkin are the first five acts to be announced. Set to take place at St. James Church in the Co. Kerry town, tickets for Other Voices 2015 will be up for grabs via raffles soon.

  • I Am The Cosmos Set for Belfast Debut

    Dublin electronic duo Cian Murphy and Ross Turner AKA I Am The Cosmos have announced their debut Belfast show on Saturday, May 23. The pair will play the free-entry Chromatic at the new-fangled Woodworkers. Choosing to make rare live appearances and having signed a deal with Faber Music, IATC are working on a follow-up album in Dublin’s National Concert Hall as part of the Artists in Residence project.   • Martha Wainwright announces Dublin shows

    Canadian singer-songwriter Martha Wainwright has announced that she will be performing in Dublin later on this year. The American singer has confirmed that she play two intimate shows on November 3 and 4 at Whelan’s. Tickets go on sale this Wednesday August 13 at 9am, and these will cost €25. Wainwright, sister of acclaimed singer Rufus Wainwright, released her latest album Come Home To Mama in 2012. Check out ‘Proserpina’ below.

  • Interpol announce Dublin show

    New York post-punk revivalists Interpol have announced details of their new album, as well as a European tour that will include a stop in Dublin. Interpol will be releasing their fifth studio album, El Pintor, on September 5 before embarking on a European tour at the start of next year. Dublin will be the final stop for the band, on February 10. The Olympia Theatre is the venue for the band, and tickets, on sale Friday July 18, will cost €39.05.
