It’s been a real joy seeing Quiet Lights shine a light on both Irish and International folk, traditional, and experimental music over the last few years. Six years on from its debut outing, the festival returns in November with its strongest programme to date. Returning to Cork City across 21-24th November, this year’s line-up features a host of long-time TTA favourites, among them Elaine Howley and Rachael Lavelle, who will perform a double-header, as well as Joshua Burnside, Aoife Wolf, Cormorant Tree Oh, Lemoncello, Mohammad Syfkhan and Ana Palindrome. It’s surely true what they say about rest and the wicked: the seemingly interminably on-tour Mary Wallopers have just announced a massive Irish tour for December. 7 Drunken Nights is the latest run on home turf for the brothers Hendy and co., including four dates at Vicar Street and their biggest Belfast show to date, at the SSE Arena.
