After a hugely successful summer which saw the band play their first headline sets at Reading, Leeds and Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Scottish alt-rock three-piece Biffy Clyro have announced they will play Dublin’s Royal Kilmainham hospital on June 28, 2014. The announcement comes after the band were confirmed to play Cork’s Live at the Marquee the day before on Friday, June 27. The Pixies, Elbow and Neil Young are amongst others acts set to play the festival. Tickets for the Dublin show are priced €44.50 including booking fee go on sale this Wednesday, 18 December at 9am from Ticketmaster.

Having headlined Reading and Leeds just last week, Scottish rockers Biffy Clyro are amongst a handful of new acts announced to play this year’s Arthur’s Day. Taking place on September 26 as always, fast-rising Dublin band Kodaline and Meath indie rock five-piece Ham Sandwich have also been added to the bill that already features legendary U.S. singer-songwriter Bobby Womack, The Script, James Vincent McMorrow, Manic Street Preachers, Emeli Sandé and Janelle Monáe. The line-up for BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Derry/Londonderry has been announced. Set to take place over three days later this month – from May 24 to May 26 – Calvin Harris, Biffy Clyro (above) and Bruno Mars will headline the festival, set to take place in Ebrington Square. Two Door Cinema Club, Vampire Weekend, Kendrick Lamar, Everything Everything, Frightened Rabbit and alt-J are also amongst the extensive, six-stage line-up. Check out the full line-up below.
