Several new acts have been added to the bill for this year’s Indiependence festival, which is set to return to Deer Farm in Mitchelstown, Cork, across the weekend of July 31 to August 2. With the likes of the Mark Lanegan Band, Ash and Jape already confirmed, Basement Jaxx, Kodaline, Hamsandwich, Foy Vance, The Young Folk and Elastic Sleep (pictured) are amongst the latest additions. Having mightily weathered the storm of threatening arts cuts, Belfast’s Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival have launched the full programme for their 16th outing, set to take place from April 30 to May 10. The first string of acts have been unveiled for the inaugural Canalaphonic festival in Dublin’s Portobello and Rathmines. With less than four months to go, the day-by-day line-up for this year’s Longitude festival has been revealed. Set to take place across the weekend of Friday, July 17 to Sunday, July 19, the annual Marlay Park festival will see Hozier, Alt-J and The Chemical Brothers headline each night respectively. Hands down the country’s premier boutique music, culture and arts festival, Electric Picnic, will return this summer, headlined by trip-hop legends Portishead, rejuvenated U.S. hip-hop duo Outkast and Beck. Taking place at Stradbally Estate, Co. Laois from Friday, August 29 to Sunday, August 31, the likes of Chic, Mogwai, Slowdive, St. Vincent and Blondie have also been confirmed to play the annual festival, which celebrates its eleventh anniversary this year. Kicking off in exactly three months time, the two headliners for this year’s Sunflowerfest have been announced at Belfast’s Sunflower Bar. Taking place across the weekend of August 22-25, English dance act The Orb and Co. Down rock quartet The Answer (pictured) were revealed as this year’s headliners, set to perform on the Friday and Saturday night respectively.
