This is the 8th edition of PVA’s hard copy series and features contributions from Rob Doyle, Jennie Guy, Joanna Walsh and more. Critical Bastards launch their new issue later this evening in Dublin’s Temple Bar Gallery + Studios. The latest release from the critical art journal is centred on the theme of ‘hope’ and its role within the creation and enjoyment of art – the open call for submissions earlier this year advised: “Critical thinking without hope is cynicism. Independent Irish publication Critical Bastards have announced details of an open submission for their 14th issue – the theme for the forthcoming issue is ‘Hope‘. Critical Bastards is a vital and engaging publication that seeks to open dialogues surrounding art in Ireland. Their last issue was an audio version to do with ‘Work‘ with the issue previous to that a print version with the theme of ‘Resourcefulness‘.
