    One of the featured “ones to watch” acts in our 16 For ’16 feature at the start of the year, Belfast duo apartments will play a live Thin Air Tuesday Throwdown (and their last show for the foreseeable future) in the intimate space of Lavery’s Belfast Back Bar on Tuesday, July 19. Having released their six-track debut EP, Rush, back in October of last year, the emo/hardcore pair have quickly established themselves as a live act very much worth checking out. Admission is free.     Saturday March 12 2016. A hidden location in Belfast’s city centre. No, not a meeting of some clandestine secret society, but a fundraising gig for Belfast hardcore rockers Hornets. As they’ve previously done (to raise money for a tour) the band chose a tiny studio location, holding a maximum of eighty people, to have ‘a bit of a do’, including an art gallery, a raffle, and a couple of up and coming young bands as support.     Belfast’s very own two-piece emo/punk band Apartments are a rare breed in the music scene around Northern Ireland. Hosting influences from many underground bands in the punk scene, there a few bands across Ireland that mix the apathetic lyricism, the emotive vocal delivery and the fast paced, aggressive tones of the two piece.
