    It’s been a couple of years since we’ve heard from Belfast quartet Dugout. Making themselves heard in such a supersaturated indie scene, their carefully-crafted indie rock is equal parts fiercely melodic and masterfully economical. A sub-three minute, starry-eyed burst of stellar refrains and =W=-worthy twin guitar harmonies, new single ‘Topsoil’ is a welcome return penned and recorded over the last few weeks in lockdown.   • Premiere: Dugout – Ride

    One of several acts set to play the first ever Coaster in Portrush next Friday (July 20), Dugout are a new-fangled Belfast-based quartet whose debut single is a statement of intent. An earworming three-minute blast of Cuomo-conjuring indie-rock, the Ryan McGroarty-mixed, Rocky O’Reilly-engineered ‘Ride’ was, in the band’s own words, written about “that terrible job that we’ve all had.” Sealing the deal on the single is its video.   • Line-Up Announced For Inaugural Coaster

    Hosted by Ewen Friers’ CATALAN!, New Pagans (pictured), fast-rising experimental alt-folk artist Joshua Burnside and Belfast dream-pop trio Beauty Sleep are amongst the names set to play the inaugural Coaster in Portrush on July 20. A self-proclaimed “summer gathering on the North Coast celebrating local music” the event will take place at the Atlantic Bar and Babuska.
