• Omni Selassi Weekender at Anseo

    This weekend, Dublin’s soundest independent imprint and promoters Little Gem host the debut Irish shows by Swiss trio Omni Selassi. Taking over Anseo on Camden Street from Saturday 20th to Monday 22nd May, expect three evenings of top-tier experimental sounds including Little Gem Band on Saturday, Neitherman on Sunday and Feral Kittenz on Monday — plus special guests.   • Gem Fest 2016

    Purveyors of all things sonically excellent, Dublin’s Little Gem Records will host a free concert and celebration at The Bandstand in Dublin’s Phoenix Park on Sunday, July 17. An all-ages, free event, where picnic blankets and dancing shoes are encouraging, Patrick Kelleher, Roslyn Steer, Fuzzy Hell and Cobra Truth will all perform from 2pm. Nice.

    How many ‘Campfire R&B’ artists can you think of off the top of your head? It’s a curious sonic genus, after all, and one that appears to be exclusive to Italian avant-pop explorer StopTheWheel AKA Francesco Candura. Taken from the (we hope and pray) Danny-Glover-in-Lethal Weapon-referencing Too Old For This Shit – an EP which be released via Dublin’s Little Gem Records on Friday, May 20 – ‘ShakeUp’ is his latest single. Accompanied by a video by Gustav Willeit, it’s all a bit tUnE-yArDs meets Royal Trux, Candura’s pitched vocals, 4-track production and measured acoustic patterns merging to create something that can only be described as borderline dangerously catchy.

    We’ll be celebrating our grand second birthday at Dublin’s The Twisted Pepper on Saturday, May 2. Kicking off at 6pm in the Twisted Pepper cafe with an exhibition of our magazine covers to date and selected work from our fantastic team of photographers. Following that we have Robocobra Quartet and Night Trap live in the Stage room with our headliners who will be announced on April 2nd.
