Spilt Milk Announce 2024 Line-Up

Over the last few years, Sligo’s Spilt Milk has firmly established itself as a vital force in Ireland’s musical landscape, emerging as one of the island’s most adventurous and attuned festivals. Now in its sixth year, Spilt Milk returns from 14th to 17th November 2024 with a line-up that spans everything from deft dream pop to trouncing noise rock, all while offering a family-friendly twist with the Junior Jam.

This year’s edition features 18 acts – bands, performers, and DJs spread across a network of intimate venues in Sligo town, including Blend, Furey’s Pub, The Garavogue, Lillies and the iconic Yeats Building. Returning to its multi-venue roots, the festival – which is run by friends and heroes of TTA, Edel and Danny Doherty, previously of Art for Blind Records – continues to champion a heady mix of local and international talent, from a few revered names to some great emerging voices.

Among the highlights is Dublin’s 7of9, an art-pop duo featuring spoken word artist Osaro and darkwave musician Lizzie Fitzpatrick. Also on the bill is the UK’s THE NONE, a noise rock collective featuring members of Bloc Party and Youth Man.

Elsewhere, TTA favourites RÓIS and Brigid Mae Power aren’t to be missed, with the former’s genre-bending keening/electronics taking over the Yeats Building, while Power is set for The Garavogue. Other must-see sets include Amanda Feery & Declan Synnott, and R.Kitt’s driving techno at the Penthouse.

With a mission to serve as “a platform for experimental art across music, sound art, video and film,” Split Milk is the definition of reliable when it comes to boundary-pushing performances that embrace the unconventional. It’s a celebration of the fringes and the fearless, offering audiences a rare glimpse into the wild and wonderful corners of today’s alternative music landscape -all in the heart of Sligo.
