Here’s the Irish Acts to Catch at the Great Escape This Week

In the seemingly blink of an eye, The Great Escape is once again back to take over every corner of Brighton this week. And as ever, the UK’s very music new music showcase has delivered, and then some, on a serious span of emerging acts from right across Ireland.

Running from tomorrow, Wednesday May 14th, to Friday, 17th, this year’s outing has quite literally just about something for everyone keen to hear the acts reshaping the scene right now – all thanks to week-long showcases courtesy of Music From Ireland returning as well as a very strong showing from the North, courtesy of the Oh Yeah Music Scene x Output Belfast

If you’re in town this year, you’d do well not to miss the Music From Ireland Official Showcase at the Prince Albert this Thursday, May 15th. at the Prince Albert featuring TTA favourites Search Results, Curtisy, Ahmed, With Love, Ellie O’Neill and Cliffords, followed by sets by the likes of RÓIS, Dug and countless more across the city.

Elsewhere, we highly recommend checking out the following – but as ever, stick around to pack in as much as possible:

Long-time TTA favourite Ronan Kealy, aka Junior Brother at the TGE Beach at Soundwaves on Wednesday, 14th May at 7.15pm

RÓIS at Brighthelm on Thursday, 15th May, after catching Dug at Unitarian Church at 8.15pm.

Another essential set by Ahmed, With Love at Patterns Upstairs on Friday, 15th at 6.30pm.

On Friday, make time for Cliffords at TGE Beach at Soundwaves at 8.15pm, followed by Morgana at 9.15pm at Three Wise Cats.

Earlier on Friday, make time for the whole NI showcase featuring:

  • RÓIS – 12:30 pm.

  • Makeshift Art Bar – 1:30 pm.

  • Jock – 2:30 pm.

  • Mount Palomar – 3:30 pm.

Along with the musical showcase, there’s also a networking brunch at Kooks from 10:30 am to 11:45 am on Thursday, where you can meet the artists, their representatives and other industry delegates. It’s an ideal opportunity to dive deeper into the Irish music scene and network with those shaping the future of the industry.
