A new festival is coming to IMMA at Dublin’s Royal Hospital Kilmainham. Presented by promoters POD, Meadows Festival is a specially designed, socially-distance and open-air summer series of live music, performance and spoken word. Taking place next month, across August 20-22, the series will feature set from David Keenan & Niamh Regan, Just Mustard & John Francis Flynn, Saint Sister & CMAT, A Lazarus Soul & Lisa O’Neill, and more. In what’s in no uncertain terms the finest outdoor show Ireland will probably see in 2018, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds play their first date on the isle in over a decade at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham on Wednesday, June 6. Beck and Jonny Greenwood on the same bill. It’s very seldom that such an absolute gift is given to the city of Dublin. Both of these men are towering artistic figures who managed to nail that subtle balance between commerce and self expression in a way that few others can lay claim to. Yet in spite of this, the crowd at Kilmainham could well be at a weekend session.
