Twenty-one new acts including Blondie and Scottish post-rock band Mogwai (pictured) have been announced to played this year’s Electric Picnic festival. Amongst the other new additions set to play at the annual Stradbally Estate festival from Friday, July 29 to August 31 are Sinead O’Connor, James Murphy, Kelis, Neneh Cherry, The Horrors, Duke Dumont, Twin Shadow, Ham Sandwich, Clean Bandit, Drenge, The Orwells, Glass Animals, Wolf Alice, The Districts, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Vancouver Sleep Clinic, Vaults, Benjamin Booker and Moko. With the likes of the Bonnevilles and Pocket Billiards already confirmed, several new acts have been announced to play this year’s Sunflower Fest. With more bands and artists to be announced, Million $ Reload (pictured), Wonder Villains, Mutefish, Michael Mormecha, Henry Cluney Band, Amanda St John, Magwere, Suzanne Savage Quartet, Go Swim, More Dogs Barking, Love Street and High Flying Words are the latest additions to the annual Hillsborough festival, taking place from August 22-25. With an already impressive line-up on the cards, thirty-five more acts have been announced to play the second outing for Longitude festival in Dublin’s Marlay Park this Summer. Amongst the new acts unveiled earlier today are Greg Dulli’s rejuvenated The Afghan Whigs (pictured), Nebraskan singer-songwriter Conor Oberst and Irish folk-pop duo Hudson Taylor. An annual fixture at the breathtaking Charleville Castle in Tullamore, Castlepalooza have announced their line-up for 2014. With a handful of acts yet to be announced, Super Furry Animals’ main man Gruff Rhys (pictured), indie-pop duo Summer Camp and Franco-Swiss DJ Gilles Peterson top the bill of acts performing this year.
