Having released their fifth studio album, Helter Seltzer, back in April, We Are Scientists are returning for three Irish shows in October as part of their latest UK and Irish tour. The New York-based duo – who burst onto the scene back in 2005 with their major label classic With Love and Squalor – play Dublin’s Opium Rooms on October 20, Galway’s Roisin Dubh on October 21 and Belfast’s Limelight 2 on October 23. Tickets on sale this Friday at 9am.

Helter Seltzer, the fifth and by far the flashiest studio album from alt-pop duo We Are Scientists proves that Chris Cain and Keith Murray are back with a punch. Tonight, the Limelight 2 has had the pleasure of welcoming back the effortlessly dapper We Are Scientists for a gig that is a touch earlier in the evening than usual. By 7.20pm the room is filling up nicely with some familiar patrons of the adjacent Katy’s bar and folks stream in from haunts further afield, all of whom seem to be eagerly anticipating what is looking to be a slightly more intimate experience compared to the bands’ previous appearances in venues like the Mandela Hall and The Spring and Airbrake (now Limelight 1).
