    The Boomtown Rats

    The Olympia Theatre

The Boomtown Rats return for a Dublin show at the Olympia once more on March 25, following their return in 2015 to Electric Picnic & the live circuit.

The quartet who were once banned from playing in their home country, the 'licentious, festering reprobates' and 'leprous anti-establishment scumbags' exploded in 1976 after connecting with the ever-questioning youth of Ireland in the mid-70s. They earned numerous Brit, Ivor Novello & Grammy awards and were the first Irish band to attain a UK number 1 hit with 'Rat Trap'. They released 6 albums in their time, with Bob Geldof then, embarking on a humanitarian career after Band Aid.

Have a wee listen to 'I Don't Like Mondays'.

Tickets are priced at €40 from Ticketmaster. Doors open at 7pm.
