    The Boomtown Rats

    Mandela Hall

    Belfast

    boomtownrats

The Boomtown Rats have returned to the live circuit, playing Belfast's Mandela Hall on March 24 following appearances at Electric Picnic & the Olympia Theatre in recent years.

The quartet who were once banned from playing in their home country, the 'licentious, festering reprobates' and 'leprous anti-establishment scumbags' exploded in 1976 after connecting with the ever-questioning youth of Ireland in the mid-70s. They earned numerous Brit, Ivor Novello & Grammy awards and were the first Irish band to attain a UK number 1 hit with 'Rat Trap'. They released 6 albums in their time, with Bob Geldof then, embarking on a humanitarian career after Band Aid.

Have a wee listen to 'I Don't Like Mondays'.

Tickets are priced at £35 from Ticketmaster. Doors open at 8pm.
