One of the country’s most reliably consistent and forward-thinking jazz festivals, the line-up has been revealed for the fifth outing of Moving on Music’s Brilliant Corners. Irish bassist Ronan Guilfoyle brings his project Hands to the Black Box on March 8.
Irish bassist Ronan Guilfoyle is one of the major figures in the Irish jazz scene, with an international reputation as both a musician and composer. Bringing together two of New York’s finest musicians; saxophonist Dave Binney and drummer Tom Rainey, and up-and-coming young Irish guitarist Chris Guilfoyle, Hands is a project that combines composed music with freewheeling improvisation. The result is a brew of interweaving lines, deft counterpoints, and improvisational power – laden with groove, rhythm, and surprise.
Tickets for the show are available from Brilliant Corners, priced at £10/£14, and festival tickets, priced at £40, are available here. The show kicks off at 8pm.
