A night of exploratory experimentations in sound takes place at A4 Sounds on St. Joseph's Parade, thanks to Piss Rainbow. Headlining is Beunos Aires-born musician Alan Courtis.
Courtis first appeared with his out-there rock troupe Reynols, and has went on to tour worldwide, collaborating with the likes of Lee Ranaldo, Pauline Oliveros, Jim O'Rourke and more. A composer & performer, he uses prepared sound, tape manipulation, processed recording, live electronics, unconventional instrumentation, or conventional instrumentation, performed unconventionally. Check out this interview with him.
Progressive exploratory synth wizard and keysman with No Spill Blood, Magic Pockets plays - check out his debut album on Bandcamp - and Woven Skull & Worst guitarist Aonghus McEvoy, who performs a set of pieces for amplified rock guitar - listen to his Richard Dawson/Bill Orcutt/John Fahey-esque abrasive neo-primitivism here.
Admission costs €10 and doors open at 8pm. It's a BYOB show.
