On October 14, the eleventh volume of the Irish Youth Music Awards takes place at the Roisin Dubh. Featuring live performances from all of Team Galway, Belfast-based IYMA Lil Red songwriter awardee Róise McHugh, as well as Finglas Fyrc and Newkind.
The IYMA is an islandwide youth music educational programme run by Youth Work Ireland, focusing on using music as an educational tool for people aged from 12-19, offering hands-on experience in learning skills for the creative & music industries.
The tracks on this volume come from Youth Work Ireland Galway's team, being the recipient region of the programme for the third year running. Featured on the compilation is a track dedicated to Sean Hughes, aka Lil Red, who was involved for several years but passed away earlier this year. The track was recorded by his friends Newkind & Beyond The Beat FYRC, and is titled Friday Morning.
Admission costs €10 including CD - and every one that sells on the day will help the outfit make the Irish charts. It's an all-ages gig, and doors open at 2pm. Full details are available here.
