London folk rock icon Richard Thompson OBE returns for a short run of solo acoustic performances in Ireland, playing Ulster Hall on August 11.
Influential across the entire musical spectrum for his contributions to folk, rock and alternative music, he earned his recording chops with Fairport Convention.
Among his finest albums are 1974's I Want To See the Bright Lights Tonight, recorded alongside his wife Linda, as well as their run of '70s albums until their split, documented on Turn Out The Lights. His hybrid picking, alternate tunings, droning techniques and preference for Stratocasters have been hallmarks of his sound over the years, and last year returned with acclaimed 19th studio album, 13 Rivers.
Tickets are available from Ticketmaster, priced at £30. Doors open at 7pm.
