    Lee 'Scratch' Perry

Legendary Jamaican frontiersman of reggae & dub Lee 'Scratch' Perry makes another return to Ireland to play Whelan's on March 31.

Perry gets much credit for his part in the pioneering of dub music, both as an artist and for his studio techniques and production values, and has a guiding figure since the late '50s ska movement. Super Ape, his 1976 album with The Upsetters still stands up as one of, if not the definitive dub album. Incredibly still performing into his 80s, it's been over 40 years since its release, but he can still go with the best of them - an unverified claim posits him as the only 80+ year old who can dance on one leg for an hour - listen to Super Ape.

Ticket are available priced at €26 from WAV Tickets and Ticketmaster. Doors open at 8pm.
