Carrick on Shannon
This Friday, the experimental Zvukee night holds its fourth iteration at Carrick-on-Shannon's Dock Arts Centre. Zvukee is a series of performances, films & talks by artists who work with self-acquired sounds, field recordings and noises gathered from the seen and hidden world around us. It has been curated by artist Natalia Beylis as part of her 2019 residency at The Dock, with Zvukee No. 4 being the final in the series.
Elaine Howley, vocalist for Altered Hours and one third of Crevice, will perform a collaborative set with Natalia Beylis, who performs with Woven Skull as well as being a successful experimental artist in her own right. Their performance is a one-off, using cassette tapes, vocals and live electronics.
Eimear Reidy presents Groundless, a set of three pieces for solo and pre-recorded cello, and sounds from Cork city, centred around the groundlessness of being human and how we confront that daily. She has performed across Europe with Irish baroque orchestra Capella Cracoviensis, the RTE concert orchestra, the Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra and more.
Tickets are available here, priced €10. Doors open at 8.45pm.
