Airborne Extended of Austria is female quartet in search of unknown tonal combinations. Their explorative approach makes for many combinations of instruments, with this concert alone featuring harp, harpsichord, a selection of ten recorders, four flutes and electronics.
Since 2013, Airborne Extended has explored these unusual combinations to create a world of new sound and colour. The success of their approach has resulted in a repertoire comprised mainly of commissioned works by living composers from Europe, Australia, Russia, Japan, Mexico and the USA.
Supported by the Austrian Kulturforum, and brought over by Moving On Music, they will perform in the most advanced acoustic space on the island - Queen's University's Sonic Lab.
Tickets, priced £8 concession and £12 for general admission, are available from Eventbrite. Doors open at 7pm, and there will be a pre-concert talk by the Contemporary Music Centre at 7.15pm.
