Having released their slick, elegiac Keepsake EP at the tail-end of last month, fast-rising Dublin dream-pop duo Slow Skies will surely spellbind Dublin’s Sugar Club on Wednesday, October 8. Catch them before they go positively stratospheric.


 
Fox Jaw, Gascan Ruckus, Th Greased Palm @ Voodoo, Belfast – Thursday, October 9

Limerick band Fox Jaw (recently abbreviated from Fox Jaw Bounty Hunters) bring their gloomy alt-rock up North for the Belfast launch of their new album, Ghost’s Parades, at Voodoo on Thursday night. Belfast-based acts Gascan Ruckus and The Greased Palm make up the support.


 
Sick Records presents: The High Dials, Thee Dreadfuls @ Aether & Echo, Belfast – Thursday, October 9

Our outright Gig of the Week, Canadian psych-indie five-piece The High Dials will play Belfast’s Aether & Echo in the very first installment of Sick Records’ residency in the venue. Support on the night comes from the stellar Thee Penny Dreadfuls, easily one of the country’s most promising rock n’ roll outfits and a DJ set by Ryan Fitzsimmons.


 
DSNT Presents: Karenn (Live), Sunil Sharpe, DSNT Residents @ Limelight 1, Belfast – Friday, October 10

Celebrating three years of pioneering techno in Belfast, DSNT hosts a stellar bill at Limelight 1 on Friday, October 10: Karenn – comprised of influential producers Blawan and Pariah, fellow Sheworks label artist Sunil Sharpe and the DSNT residents. It’ll be suitably filthy.


 
Skymas, Schmutz @ Bar Sub, QUBSU, Belfast – Friday, October 10

Belfast electro-rock trio Skymas have wasted no time in staking their claim as one of the country’s best new live acts. Fronted by former Skint recording artist Martin Corrigan, experience the fist-clenched majesty of their propulsive, intent-drenched craft at this, supported by Belfast DJ duo Schmutz.


 
Sea Pinks (Dreaming Tracks LP launch), Women’s Christmas, Me & My Dog @ Bello Bar, Dublin – Saturday, September, October 11

Belfast three-piece Sea Pinks release their exceptional new album, Dreaming Tracks, at a show at Dublin’s Bello Bar on Saturday night. Two of Popical Island’s finest bands, Women’s Christmas and Me & My Dog, will support Neil Brogan’s three-piece on the night.
