Cork cult alternative rock heroes Microdisney have got back together after 30 years to perform their seminal album, The Clock Comes Down the Stairs and more, at Dublin’s National Concert Hall on June 2, 2018.

The duo of Cathal Coughlan and Sean O’Hagan disbanded in 1988, having released several albums by the likes of Kabuki, Rough Trade and Virgin. Once described by John Peel as “the iron fist in a velvet glove”, the reunited band will also feature Jon Fell and Tom Fenner for the NCH show.

Tickets – which go on sale on Wednesday at 10am – are priced €38, €34 and €29.50.

In other Microdisney news, Paul McDermott has just unveiled a 60-minute radio documentary on the seminal Cork band titled Iron Fist in a Velvet Glove. Featuring contributions from Coughlan and O’Hagan, Robert Forster of The Go-Betweens, Rough Trade’s Geoff Travis and more, you can stream that in full below.
