If you’re into jazz or just good music in general, you’ll hopefully already know that Brilliant Corners is one of the top festivals in Ireland – and year 13 is shaping up to be something special. Big shout-out to the legends at Moving on Music who’ve been making this happen year after year, pushing the boundaries of jazz and bringing a level of talent to Belfast that you won’t find anywhere else. It’s not just one of the best jazz festivals around – it’s straight-up one of the best festivals on the island, full stop.
From 28th February to 8th March, the festival returns to over The Black Box and a few other venues in Belfast, bringing together some of the best sounds and talents from all over. Expect brand-new projects, album launches and a seriously mind-melting line-up of musicians.
On the home front, you’ve got Neil Burns & Ensemble launching Golden Sunsets, the Ulster Youth Jazz Orchestra, Sultan Stevenson Trio, Kwame Daniels & Kaidi Tatham and Stratford Rises’s Orion Courtney-Lee – to name a few.
From further afield, we’re excited to catch everything from Georgia Cécile, a tribute to Alice Coltrane from Alina Bzhezhinska’s HipHarpCollective and Zoh Amba Trio with Chris Corsano & Nick Dunston, to Ruth Goller & Sebastian Rochford, Handmade Music with Bex Burch & Laurel Pardue, and Elliot Galvin’s ‘The Ruin’.
Seriously, you don’t want to miss any of this. You can grab a Full-Festival Ticket for just £45, which gives you access to all 11 gigs. Tickets are limited, so don’t sleep on it. Check out the full line-up below and go here for tickets.
