Naoise Roo has announced her last-ever headline show.
Having spent the last few years underscoring her status as one of the island’s most distinctive songwriting voices, the Dublin artist has revealed that the launch of her latest album – and one of 2023’s very best – Emotionally Magnificent will be her last-ever headliner.
Taking place at the Workman’s Club in Dublin on Friday, 2nd February, the performance is set to be an emotional, yet uniquely celebratory curtain call from a singular talent who has made clear her wishes to explore other avenues in her broader creative life.
In an Instagram post, Naoise Roo said: “I think its time to explore some other things. There is never a time that seems easy to stop; it always feels like sustainable creative success is just around the corner, that you are waiting on a bus to speed you towards a new destination.”
“However, those of us who have been in this game a long time are often faced with the realisation that the destination doesn’t really exist — or when it does, no one knows how long it will last. I think I’d like to switch gears and take a paddleboat somewhere, nowhere in particular.”
