Bloc Party have announced details of two Irish shows to mark their 20th anniversary in July. The Kele Okereke-fronted outfit will perform their seminal debut album Silent Alarm and their greatest hits at the Telegraph Building in Belfast on Thursday, 4th July and 3Arena in Dublin on Friday, 5th July. Tickets go on sale on Friday, 16th February at 10am. As part of a run of six European shows, Bloc Party will perform their debut album, Silent Alarm, at Dublin’s 3Arena on October 22. Hands down their finest hour, Silent Alarm was released to critical and commercial acclaim in 2005. The double A-side ‘So Here We Are/Positive Tension’, ‘Banquet’ and ‘Pioneers’ were released as singles. Tickets are on sale on Monday, March 25 at 9am, priced €49.50 including booking fee.

For many, Bloc Party exist very much at a specific moment in time: Post the treble laden jangle of The Strokes and as somewhat forefathers to the frenetic melodies of bands like Foals and the hybridisation of electronica, house and old fashioned garage rock.
