The June Bank Holiday weekend returns, and with it comes Bulmers Forbidden Fruit Festival, which runs from Saturday, June 2 until Monday, June 4. Amongst the first wave of indie-heavy announcements are Monday headliners, mellowed-out stadium-fillers The War On Drugs. This follows the release of their latest album, A Deeper Understanding. Sharing the bill on Monday are Grizzly Bear – just off the back of 2 tremendously well-received sold-out dates at Vicar Street – Warpaint, Thundercat, Spoon and Superorganism. As part of a forthcoming 2017 world tour, it has been announced that Thundercat will play a date at Dublin’s Vicar Street on March 27. Presented by the ever-tasteful guys at Choice Cuts, will mark the return of the Californian multi-genre bassist, producer and singer, who played the legendary Thomas Street venue back in April 2015. Doors for the show are 7.30-11pm and admission is €25.00 ex booking fees. Tickets go on sale on December 9 at 9am.

As the oldest son of legendary vocalist and composer Bobby ‘Don’t Worry, Be Happy’ McFerrin, Taylor McFerrin has presumably had ample time to soak up as much of the unorthodox, richly diverse musicianship that the family crest must surely represent.
