    Electric Picnic will be upon us in about a month’s time, and Ireland’s biggest music festival has added twenty-three new acts to their lineup, including a host of artists who performed at Longitude last weekend.   • Watch: GO WOLF – One More Night

    Set to support Wild Beasts at Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival tonight (May 8), Belfast-based indie-pop band GO WOLF have unveiled the video to their new single, ‘One More Night’. Directed by Babysweet, the video features three female actresses “being” GO WOLF, with the band lending a helping hand along the way. Pretty cool concept, we reckon. Recorded and produced by Rocky O’Reilly at Start Together Studios, Belfast, ‘One More Night’ was mastered by Robin Schmidt. Watch the video for the single below.  

  • Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival announce line-up additions

    With the likes of The Selecter, Tinariwen and Shonen Knife already announced, several new acts have been confirmed for this year’s Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival. Arguably topping the lot is American groundbreaking hip-hop trio De La Soul (above), who join Ginger Baker’s Jazz Confusion, DBC Pierre, Wilko Johnson, Rubberbandits, Fuck Buttons, Wild Beasts, Jimi Goodwin and The Third Policeman.     When Kendal quartet Wild Beasts emerged in 2008 with debut album Limbo, Panto, it seemed that, at last, here was a band ready to rally to Neil Hannon’s battle-cry, “Elegance against ignorance. Difference against indifference. Wit against shit”. It’s an impression that subsequent albums have only served to strengthen. Fourth album Present Tense finds them venturing further out into the electronic wasteland first colonised on Smother.
