The eight track LP will be released on Because Music, who have previously worked with the likes of Metronomy, Christine and the Queens and Django Django. To coincide with announcement, Colleran has also shared another track from the album, ‘bERA’ with a breathtaking video directed by Christopher Gray. Last month, Colleran shared the tremendous ‘O+SOH‘, the first single to be lifted from the album. The track found the Newbridge native branching further into fields of intricate sound design and classical composition than…

  • MMOTHS, Toby Kaar & Daithi @ Roisin Dubh, Galway

I was really looking forward to this gig. Between them, Toby Kaar, MMOTHS and Daithi released some of the most exciting Irish releases of the past twelve months, each of them showcasing the versatility and dedication that exists amongst the country’s young musicians who ditched guitars and drums for adventures into electronics. In the context of these artists’ significance to the country’s music scene, that versatility is paramount, from Toby Kaar’s disjointed, franticly emotive beats, to MMOTHS’ encompassing soundscapes, to Daithi’s infectious, melodic floor fillers. So on paper this bill looks terrific right? What I guess I forgot was that…

  • MMOTHS unveils new LP track ‘Eva’

Jack Colleran AKA MMOTHS‘ long awaited debut LP Luneworks is set to drop on March 11th. Following from the stunning ‘Deu’ which was given to us in November of last year, ‘Eva’ is the second track from the album that we have heard. Like ‘Deu’, ‘Eva’ is giving us plenty of reason to suspect that this album is going to be a very special one indeed. Over the past couple of years MMOTHS has shied from from the bubbling pulses that defined his very early output, opting instead for a far more ambient, Boards of Canada-esque brand of electronica that has gradually…

  • Stream: MMOTHS – Deu

Having long been one of the country’s most curious producers – an artist that has always felt right on the cusp of delivering something that little bit special – Jack Colleran AKA MMOTHS first grabbed our attention back in 2013 with his placating Diaries EP, a release full of restraint and cunning ambient power. Two years and a handful of impressive outings later, the Kildare artist has us smitten all over again with ‘Deu’, a warm, bewitching slice of electronica, taken from his forthcoming LP, Luneworks. Most definitely one for fans of Ulrich Schnauss, Baths and Boards of Canada, stream the track via…

  • Stream: Mmoths – Yago

Having been taking some time off to focus on the writing and recording of his second studio album, Jack Colleran AKA Mmoths has dropped the rather lovely ‘Yago’. Bearing the marks of some serious transformation over the last twelve months, the track is a subtly ecstatic electronic trawl, culminating in a sigh of quietly shattering, skittering noise. Speaking ahead of the release, Colleran said, “I’ve spent the past twelve months writing this album. ‘Yago’ and ‘Santo’ were both written during that time although they aren’t a representation of the record itself = they come from the same place in a way they’re a sign…
