Dublin-based atmospheric alt. folk quintet Ana Gog are back with their first new music in three years with the video for ‘Breaking The Atom’.
Ornately arranged with glistening textures, the song was produced at Arad Studios. Its intricately woven Abbey Road-esque – and we don’t say that lightly – outro harmonies are amongst the finest compositional moments they’ve achieved thus far. Ana Gog tell us more:
“‘Breaking the Atom’ was written shortly after coming home from a long tour across Europe in our beloved, soon-to-be stolen van, Morris. In the midst of all the sleepless nights (mostly for ‘good’ reasons!), logistical nightmares and petty fights that accompany touring, there was a great sense of freedom and belonging – ‘all our roads unwind…mile on mind, our souls aglow in red and white’.”
“The song is an attempt to capture the feeling of being a band on the run – something that we’ve all missed terribly this year. On that particular tour, we were lucky to be joined by filmmaker and long-time band friend Daire Hall, who trawled through old footage over the past few months to cut together this beautiful video. We’re delighted to share all of our trundling and messing with the world.”
The band are set to release more new music on Friday, December 11th, available on all platforms. Watch the video for ‘Breaking The Atom’ below:
