Celebrating its fifth anniversary this year, the Michelstown-based festival Indiependence announced its lineup yesterday evening. The festival – taking place on the August bank holiday weekend – draws in bigger names this year, with Public Enemy (above), White Lies and Tom Odell all headlining. Further down the lineup you get the likes of Irish stars Delorentos, Damian Dempsey and Sultans Of Ping, along with upcoming talent Darling, Chloe Howl and The Academic. Tickets are a very reasonably priced €99 and are on sale now.

Dublin’s own electro-poppers Fight Like Apes will be putting on a show in Whelan’s Dublin on the April 12. The band last played the venue back in December 20, following a near two-year hiatus. Tickets will go on sale tomorrow, March 5 and will be valued at €15.

Marking the anniversary of their current reunion, English ska legends The Specials have announced that will return for a couple of Irish shows in 2014, at the Olympia in Dublin and the Ulster Hall, Belfast on November 3 and 4 respectively. The tour – kicking off in Dublin – will culminate in a show at Nottingham’s Rock City on November 22. Tickets for the Dublin show are priced at €49.65 – the Belfast listing is yet to be announced. Exciting news in Dublin today with the announcement that the Jameson St. Patrick Day live event will be returning this year. White Lies (above), Funeral Suits and Darling are the acts confirmed to play at the event, and most interestingly the location for the show will be the Ambassador Theatre, a venue that has not been used for music shows for some time. Three further acts have been added to the already hugely impressive festival in Cork with Bob Dylan, Imelda May and Lana Del Rey all confirmed to play. These acts join an already prestigious line-up and include Cliff Richard, Dolly Parton, Tom Jones, Robert Plant and the Sensational Space Shifters, Elbow, Biffy Clyro, Bryan Adams, Pixies, The Prodigy, Christy Moore, Neil Young and Crazy Horse and The National. Tickets for Dylan are €65.50 – €76, €35 for Imelda May and €45 for Lana Del Rey and the dates are June 16, June 21 and July 15 respectively. Tickets go on sale February…

Longitude have revealed six new acts to play at this year’s festival. Bombay Bicycle Club (above), First Aid Kit, Icona Pop, George Ezra and Koreless will be joining the likes of HAIM, Bastille, Disclosure and Chvrches. The festival will take place from Friday 18 to Sunday July 20, and tickets are on sale now from Ticketmaster, priced at €59.50 for a day pass, and €149.50 for the weekend ticket. Yet another big name announcement for the Dublin venue today with Kings of Leon confirmed to be performing at Marlay Park on 4th July. Support for the show will be provided by Irish golden boys Kodaline. Tickets for the show are priced at €61.50 and will go on-sale from Ticketmaster on Saturday, February 8 at 10am. Arcade Fire and the Pixies, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, as well as Arctic Monkeys, Jake Bugg and Miles Kane will also play Dublin’s Marlay Park throughout the summer. American indie rockers Cloud Nothings have announced a gig at The Button Factory, Dublin on May 24. The band have recently revealed the title of their third studio album, Here and Nowhere and Nowhere Else, and unveiled the single ‘Not Part Of Me’. Irish group Raglans have announced that they will be going on a short tour of Ireland to coincide with the release of their debut album. The tour will kick off with a performance at The Academy, Dublin on the 29th of March before moving on to Cork, Limerick, Portlaoise and Galway on the 2nd to the 5th respectively. Tickets for The Academy performance are available from Ticketmaster for €12.50 and go on sale Thursday, January 30.
