    The shortlist for the 19th annual Irish Album of the Year in association with IMRO and IRMA has been revealed.     CMAT has won the Best Album prize at this year’s RTÉ Choice Music Prize. Following on from recent winners like For Those I Love, Denise Chaila, Lankum and O Emperor, the Dublin singer-songwriter – real name Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson – scooped the main prize for her debut album, If I My Wife New I Would Be Dead, at the annual awards at Dublin’s Vicar Street tonight.   • For Those I Love Wins Choice Music Prize

    For Those I Love, aka David Balfe, has won this year’s RTÉ Choice Music Prize. Off the back of performing three tracks at the event, which was held live at Dublin’s Vicar Street, Balfe scooped the prize for his self-titled 2021 LP. The Dubliner walked away with the prize – which was presented in association with IMRO and IRMA – as well as €10,000.   • Denise Chaila Wins Choice Music Prize

    Denise Chaila has scooped this year’s RTÉ Choice Music Prize. The Limerick artist won the prize for her mixtape, Go Bravely. The news was announced via the RTÉ player this afternoon. Chaila was up against albums by artists including Silverbacks, Niamh Regan, Pillow Queens and Nealo. As well as the prize, the band walked away with a €10,000 cheque jointly funded by the Irish Music Rights Organisation (IMRO) and the Irish Recorded Music Association (IRMA).
