    This weekend sees the return of Dublin Gallery Weekend with events taking place across Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Now an established and vital part of the arts calendar in the capital, Dublin Gallery Weekend provides opportunities for one off events and tours, as well as linking longer running exhibitions into the weekend’s schedule.   • Exhibition: Isabel Nolan & Brendan Earley @ Douglas Hyde

    This Thursday sees two solo shows launched in Dublin's Douglas Hyde Gallery: Kerlin Gallery's Isabel Nolan in Gallery 1, with mother's tankstation's Brendan Earley in Gallery 2. Nolan presents a mixture of mediums, making use of photography, drawing, sculpture and installation work in a show titled: Calling on Gravity. Her work is an enquiry into why of existence drawing on a diverse set of characters, both real and fictional, as inspiration.     Today and tomorrow are the last chances to see an extensive selection from the Dennis Dinneen archive in The Douglas Hyde Gallery. Operating out of the room adjacent to this pub in Macroom, County Cork between the ’50s and ’70s, Dinneen captured an Ireland that has faded in recent decades. The imagery created is an important sociological document of an Ireland transitioning from the a newly established country to entering the European fold in the start of the 1970s.
