  • Low Amongst New Acts Set for Other Voices Live

    Low are amongst a new wave of acts announced to play this year’s Other Voices Live in Dingle from December 4-6. Joining the Ohio slowcore pioneers are Jack Garrett, Keaton Henson, Glen Hansard and The Academic, whilst the acts set to play IMRO’s Other Room are Saint Sister, Talos, Gavin Glass Bitch Falcon and Hawk. Elsewhere, the following acts are set to play the free Music Trail across Dingle: Last week, Richard Hawley, Gaz Coombes, Gavin James, Lapsley and Otherkin were the first acts confirmed to play the annual showcase, which sees its 14th outing this year.

  • Other Voices Reveal First Acts For Dingle 2015

    Now well and truly an Irish musical institution after 14 years, Other Voices have revealed the first acts to play their return to Dingle from December 4 to December 6. With many more acts yet to be revealed, Richard Hawley, Gaz Coombes, Gavin James, Lapsley and Otherkin are the first five acts to be announced. Set to take place at St. James Church in the Co. Kerry town, tickets for Other Voices 2015 will be up for grabs via raffles soon.

  • Out To Lunch Festival Reveal First Acts

    An all but medicinal annual distraction from the January blues, Belfast’s Out To Lunch have revealed the first wave of acts to grace their eleventh outing at the start of next year. Including Conor O’Brien’s Villagers at the Mac, a book reading from Isy Suttie at the Black Box, an adaptation of Steinbeck classic Of Mice and Men, comedy from Sarah Kendall and shows from the likes of Beardyman, East India Youth, Jim ‘The King’ Brown and Aoife O’Donovan, this year’s bill is already shaping up very nicely indeed.   • Metropolis Announce Arcadia Spectacular

    Already an essential proposition across November 7 and 8, the inaugural Metropolis festival in Dublin will boast another, self-proclaimed “unrivalled” element: Arcadia Spectacular. The first in what’s set to be a series of art installation announcements for the festival at the grounds of the RDS, the Arcadia experience unifies every element of art into a vivid sensory matrix taking in sculpture, architecture, theatre, circus, robotics, engineerings, lightning, music and cutting edge technology.   • Metropolis Announce New Acts, Day by Day Breakdown

    Set to make its inaugural appearance at Dublin’s RDS across November 7 and 8, the bill for the inaugural Metropolis is something of a statement of intent. With the likes of Chic, The Roots and Jamie XX announced as part of its initial launch back in July, the festival have today revealed several new acts set to perform, as well as the full Day by Day breakdown over the two days and nights.   • Other Voices Electric Picnic Line-Up Revealed

    Having announced its first acts late last month, Other Voices have revealed the full schedule for this year’s Electric Picnic. Taking place over the three days and nights of the festival (Friday, September 4 to Sunday, September 6) East India Youth, August Wells, Ham Sandwich and The Staves are amongst 21 acts set to perform at the OV stage.   • CultureTECH 2015 Programme Launched

    Taking place across September 12-20 in Derry, CultureTECH 2015 for a “week-long festival of tech, media, music and games for the whole family”. Having established itself a world-class digital institution over the last few years, the programme for this year’s festival includes Maker City (a 2-day celebration of innovation and having fun with technology), City Arcade (featuring three days of Minecraft tournaments, costumes, YouTubers and video games fun) and a Street Party on September 18, featuring Booka Brass Band, Loris and Jessica Doherty.   • RBMA Reveal Electric Picnic Line-Up

    With less than a month to go, Red Bull Music Academy has announced its line-up for this year’s sold out Electric Picnic. Daire Carolan, Paul Woolford and Space Dimension Controller will get things off to a first-rate start on the Friday, Saturday will see sets from Todd Terry, Lerosa and Morgan Buckley and Boya AKA Wino Boyz. Finally, on the Sunday, New Jackson, Krystal Klear (pictured), Tr One, Lunar Disko and The Gentleman’s Academy host the Red Bull Disco Brunch.

  • Wacken Open Air 2015

    The world’s self-proclaimed largest heavy metal festival, Wacken Open Air returns to Wacken, Germany from July 29 to August 1 with yet another exceptionally strong, monstrously heavy bill. With the likes of Judas Priest, Biohazard, In Flames, Opeth, Sepultura, Cannibal Corpse, Rob Zombie, Within Temptation and Savatage amongst the acts set to play, the festival will attract 75,000 visitors over its four days.
