Taking place over the June Bank Holiday weekend of June 3-5, the likes of Maceo Plex, Booka Shade, Kink, Snakeships, Hot Chip (DJ Set) and Denis Sulta will play various Dublin venues until 3am across the weekend. Having returned in style back in September with 22, A Million, it’s been announced that Bon Iver will headline and curate the Monday line-up of next year’s Forbidden Fruit festival on June 5. Taking place, as ever, on the grounds of the Irish Museum of Modern Art at The Royal Hospital Kilmainham, Justin Vernon’s bill will feature special guests Flying Lotus, Lisa Hannigan, The Staves, Gordi and Paul Thomas Saunders, with more to be announced in the new year. It’s a cracker of an afternoon as I make my way through Kilmainham – a day ripped straight from the pages of old Junior Cert Irish essays, all erratic excitement and rock-splitting sun. I’m heading to Forbidden Fruit for the evening, and should mention that I’ve foolishly disregarded the tips on the festival’s website to dress appropriately for the weather. With the likes of Underworld, Tame Impala and Jungle already announced, Forbidden Fruit have revealed Dizzee Rascal, Katy B, Young Fathers, Katy B and DJ Deece are amongst the acts to perform on the Friday of the June bank holiday festival. Tame Impala, Jungle and Underworld are amongst the first acts announced to play this year’s Forbidden Fruit. Shaping up to be one of the festivals of the Irish summer, Forbidden Fruit have announced a handful of next acts to its 2015 bill. Joining the likes of Wu Tang Clan, Nicolas Jaar and Jamie XX to the line-up – taking place at Dublin’s Royal Hospital Kilmainham from May 29-31 – are East India Youth, Kowton, Lorenzo Senni, Tei Shi and U.S. electronic maestro Will Wiesenfield AKA Baths (pictured). Probably the finest hip-hop and electronic-oriented festival bill we’ll see on the island this year, Forbidden Fruit returns to the Royal Hospital Kilmainham on the weekend from Friday, May 29 – Sunday, May 31. With Longitude announcing their first string of acts last week, Forbidden Fruit have followed suit with a very tidy announcement featuring some electronic and hip-hop heavyweights. Set to feature 70 acts over five stages, the festival at Dublin’s Royal Hospital Kilmainham – taking place on the June Bank Holiday weekend, May 39-31 – will see the likes of Run The Jewels (above), Fatboy Slim and Wu-Tang Clan perform.
