• Jesus and Mary Chain Announce Irish Return

    The Jesus and Mary Chain have announced their return to Ireland. Led by brothers Jim and William Reid, the Scottish noise pop legends will play Dublin’s Olympia Theatre on 25th and Limelight 1 in Belfast on 26th March. As well as marking the 40th anniversary of their formation, the shows will coincide with the release of their eighth studio album, Glasgow Eyes, which is out on March 8th 2024.     Jim and William Reid seem to be getting on just fine these days. You can tell from the minimal interaction and eye contact onstage when the notoriously fractious brothers get The Jesus & Mary Chain tours off the ground. In 2014 the band played a warm-up show in Vicar Street – a kind of dress rehearsal of sorts for their then-imminent Psychocandy tour. It was a ramshackle event from start to finish – and all the more exciting for it – where it seemed the band may not have lasted to the end of the set never mind the beginning…

    Having just confirmed their first album in 18 years, Damage and Joy, The Jesus and Mary Chain have announced they play Dublin’s The Academy on Friday, April 7 and Belfast’s Limelight on Saturday, April 8. The Scottish indie legends last Dublin back in July 2014 at Vicar Street as part of a warm-up tour ahead of shows celebrating their seminal 1985 debut album Psychocandy. Slightly further back in time, the band last stopped off in Belfast in September 1987 for a show at the Ulster Hall.   • The Jesus and Mary Chain set for “secret” Dublin Show

    Scottish noise-pop pioneers The Jesus and Mary Chain have announced a ‘secret’ Dublin show for the end of the month. The band have been rehearsing in Dublin recently, and according to their facebook page they love it so much here that they’re going to put on a low-key performance at Vicar Street on July 31.
