Back in June, August Wells release what remains one of our favourite Irish tracks of the year, ‘Here In The Wild’. Summoning the pensive, reflective chamber pop of Richard Hawley and the gloriously elongated vocals of early Ian McCullough, the Ken Griffin-led outfit mustered a certain noir incantation that seemed simultaneously deeply familiar and thoroughly new-fangled. Four months on, following a string of Summer dates including an impressive Electric Picnic appearance – the band have unveiled ‘Alice Dear Alice’, a track that whilst following in the vein of ‘Here In The World’ is perhaps more akin to August single ‘Come On In Out Of That Night’…

Lending itself very nicely to their furtive and chimeric craft, Cork outfit Morning Veils keep a pretty low-key presence online. Comprised of members including Elaine Howley of The Altered Hours and Roslyn Steer, the band’s tagline on Twitter is “forgotten folk and other stories”, a little offering of insight that firmly nods in the direction of the band’s yearning new song ‘Lady In Red’. Conjuring the likes of early Liz Phair, PJ Harvey, Pod-era Breeders and the more ruminating tracks on Queens of the Stone Age’s self-titled debut, the single – recorded by Dan Walsh – will feature on the band’s forthcoming debut album, Her Kind, which be…

From the halcyon days of ‘Perversonality’, ‘Screamager’, ‘Femtex’ and ‘Brainsaw’, Therapy? have always been good for a lurid titular portmanteau. The latest in that hallowed tradition is their new single, ‘Deathstimate’, which serves as a triumphant, seven-minute closer to their fourteenth studio album, Disquiet. Set for official release on October 30, an abridged version of the single has been released with a suitably heavy video by Sitcom Soldiers. Therapy? play Infernal Love anniversary shows at Dublin’s The Button Factory on December 10/11 and Belfast’s Limelight on December 12. Watch the video for the ‘Deathstimate’ below (and go here to stream the full, seven-minute, Sabbath…

Dublin duo Anna Doran and Conan Wynne AKA Contour have always kept us on our toes here at TTA, steadily releasing material that constantly seems to be growing more and more inimitable and suggestive of big things in the pipeline. Lifted from their Champion Sound-released EP Blessed With Weird Things, the pair’s Paul Mahon-directed video for new single ‘Paradise Lost’ is an ambitious, experimental audiovisual milestone on their journey to date.

The follow-up to the sublime ‘Will To Survive‘ – one of our favourite Irish tracks of the year thus far – Dublin’s My Tribe Your Tribe are back with a new single, ‘Ghost With You’. Marking their expansion to a three-piece with multi-instrumentalist Colm Daffy entering the fold, the track – yet another instantly impressive slice of anthemic indie-pop from the George Mercer-fronted band – is accompanied with a self-made video featuring the band playing and recording the single. Check out the video below.

Set to play New York next week, Dublin threesome Sleep Thieves have unveiled the video for their new single, ‘High’. Directed by Canada-based Irish artist and filmmaker Claire Byrne in Toronto, the video presents an otherworldly Arcadia of tripped-out, anonymous fantasy land; one that fuses extremely well with the Sorcha Brennan-fronted trio’s dusky electro-pop.

Taken from his highly-anticipated new album, Dublin singer-songwriter Michael Owens AKA Owensie has unveiled the video for the the release’s extraordinary title track, featuring Woven Skull’s Aonghus McEvoy and Villagers’ Conor O’Brien on drums and backing vocals. Evoking the more somnambulist musings of Department of Eagles, the song is a subtly layered, harmony-laden four and a half minutes of ensnaring acoustic majesty, superbly mirrored in the accompanying video from Bren and Bob of Able Frame Productions. The track was produced by Dek Hynes and mixed by James Eager at The Hive Studios in Wicklow. Dramamine is launched via Out On A Limb Records with…

Featuring images of 1980’s Ireland lifted from a VHS cassette of corporate videos encouraging tourism, the video for ‘A Change’ by Dublin-based musician Stephen Tiernan AKA Participant possesses a curious, otherworldly charm, wonderfully reflected in the track’s jittering, symphonic alt-pop spell. The first single to be lifted from Tiernan’s forthcoming Content EP, the track fuses heartfelt lyrics and field recordings & samples with acoustic guitar and burgeoning ambience; plinking synth notes and synth strings marrying in a haze of experimental pop triumph. Participant performs at Dublin’s Mercantile on Friday night as part of Hard Working Class Heroes 2015 (9.20pm –…

Yet another visual masterstroke by Brendan Canty of Feel Good Lost, the brand new video for ‘Love System’ by Le Galaxie (feat.
