    A new video has been released for ‘You Are Your Mother’s Child’, a track from Conor Oberst‘s latest album Upside Down Mountain. Oberst has been in the news more often than he would like recently, following a rape accusation that has since been confirmed untrue by his accuser. Thankfully, the American singer-songwriter hasn’t focussed on the injustice of the case and ensuing media frenzy, and has instead resumed his output of stripped back, melancholy folk.   • Listen: Sleep – The Clarity

    The legendary stoner metal band Sleep have released a brand new track entitled ‘The Clarity’. It’s the first release from the group in over 20 years, following 2003’s monumental Dopesmoker – a single 63 minute track of thunderous and intoxicating guitar riffage. The Californian trio began creating music in the mid 90s and, drawing from influences as varied as Black Sabbath and Black Flag, helped pioneer the stoner rock genre.   • Watch: Sister Ghost – Scent

    Derry garage-punk singer-songwriter Shannon O’Neill AKA Sister Ghost have unveiled the video for her debut single, ‘Scent’. Recorded by Russell Matbouli at Belfast’s Resonate Studio, the track is the first outing from multi-instrumentalist O’Neill, previously of Belfast-based three-piece Vanilla Gloom.   • Interpol announce second Dublin Show

    Due to massive demand, Interpol have announced that they will be adding an extra Dublin date in February next year. The extra date will be on February 11 in the Olympia. Tickets are priced at €39.05 and are on sale now. Have another look at the band’s new song ‘All The Rage Back Home’ here;  

  • The Jesus and Mary Chain set for “secret” Dublin Show

    Scottish noise-pop pioneers The Jesus and Mary Chain have announced a ‘secret’ Dublin show for the end of the month. The band have been rehearsing in Dublin recently, and according to their facebook page they love it so much here that they’re going to put on a low-key performance at Vicar Street on July 31.
