Five thousand photographs is an impressive feat for our photographers and an even more difficult task to whittle them down to a gallery showcasing 150 fantastic images that represent what we’ve been doing for an entire year.
Having worked as photo editor at State.ie and AU Magazine before starting from scratch at The Thin Air, I found myself in the unique position of hand picking a team of photographers. I was presented with some snappers whom I was familiar with previously, some I worked along side in the pit at gigs and some fresh meat all with varying backgrounds and experience. Quality has been my absolute priority from the beginning and I feel now at one year old, we have achieved something that only a handful of sites can really boast.
We have covered gigs across the country and even as far as London, Sweden and Texas. We’ve even introduced new features such as ‘Inbound’, ‘Track Record’, ‘The First Time’, ‘AAA’ and ‘In Studio’ each containing images exclusively created for the site. I am so proud of our team and their relentless hard work and dedication to their craft. Day by day I am blown away by what they submit and how they never fail to surprise or bore me with their photographs. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank them all and say if this is the level of quality in year one then I can’t wait to see what our second year holds for us! Loreana Rushe
