    Belfast’s ever-productive Sea Pinks are back with Minimum Wage – BBC Sessions (& Others) on December 8. Collecting the Neil Brogan-fronted threesome’s eight BBC sessions since 2012 and three new recordings, the compilation-of-sorts will mark the band’s first foray since the release of the excellent Watercourse back in May. The release’s frenetic, fuzzed-out title-track is something of a departure for the band.   • New Additions to Out to Lunch and Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival

    Several new names have been announced for Belfast’s Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival and its sister festival Out To Lunch. Set to make its 13th outing across January 5-28, Moon Duo (pictured) with support from Belfast drone-pop masters Documenta is strong addition to the Out To Lunch bill, while Ben Folds, Bridget Christie, Kate Rusby, and I’m With Her Collective are the new CQAF additions, slotting alongside the likes of Lau, An Evening with Jonathan Meades, Cosey Fanni Tutti in conversation, Shirley Collins and more next year’s schedule, which runs from May 3-13.   • Premiere: I Am The Cosmos – Nothing But Love

    The follow-up to 2016’s Letting It Go 12″ single and 2013’s Monochrome LP, Dublin-based electronic duo Ross Turner and Cian Murphy AKA I Am The Cosmos are back with a new four-track EP titled ‘Nothing But Love’. Written, produced, recorded and mixed in the National Concert Hall, Dublin and scheduled for a vinyl release via the ever-reliable Art For Blind on 12″ vinyl on December 15, it’s another masterfully propulsive, slickly effort from the pair. Each track here is straight-up dancefloor fire and no mistake.   • Young Fathers Announce Academy Show

    Having returned last month with the brilliant ‘Lord’ – the lead single from their forthcoming third studio album – Mercury-prize winning Edinburgh trio Young Fathers will make their return to Dublin for a show at the Academy on March 28. The three-piece of Alloysious Massaquoi, Kayus Bankole and G. Hastings last played Dublin at Forbidden Fruit 2016 and Longitude back in 2015. Tickets for the Academy show are on sale, priced  €25 inclusive of booking fee.

    With the likes of Aine Cahill, Perfume Genius, and Songhoy Blues already announced, three new acts have been added to the bill for this year’s eir Other Voices in Dingle. Set to return to return across December 1-3, the annual Wild Atlantic Way festival has revealed that Django Django (pictured), Lankum, Loyle Carner and Booka Brass Band will make an appearance at St. James’ Church at this year’s outing.   • Moon Duo To Make Dublin Return

    Hands down one of the finest cosmically-inclined twosomes in existence, Portland’s Sanae Yamada and Ripley Johnson AKA Moon Duo have announced that they will return to play Dublin early next year. The pair – who released the two-installment Occult Architecture Vol 1 and 2 this year – will stop off at Dublin’s Button Factory on Friday, January 26. Tickets go on sale this Friday (November 17) at 9am, priced €16. Best not to miss this one.
