    Today sees the launch of this year’s Dublin Art Book Fair in Temple Bar Gallery + Studios. This is the 8th edition of Ireland’s only art book fair and is supported by the Dublin UNESCO City of Literature initiative and the Arts Council of Ireland. The theme for the fair is ‘Art and Architecture’, with a special focus on ‘Uncovering Libraries and Collections’, highlighting the important role these institutions can play in our lives.     This Thursday you have an opportunity to beat the early morning slump, or at least delay it, if you work in or around Dublin’s city centre. Temple Bar Gallery + Studios are hosting a breakfast club as part of their making connections programme, and it kicks off at 7:30am running though until 10:00am. As well as providing an opportunity to meet and discuss art with fellow enthusiasts, you can also view the gallery’s current exhibition: Proven Answers by Stephen Loughman.   • Exhibition: Brigitte Zieger @ Void

    Parisian based German artist Brigitte Zieger has a new exhibition of works, entitled Other Scenes, opening tonight in Derry’s Void gallery. The new show, which is curated by Gregory McCartney, see Zieger “explores virtual and spatial 3D images which relate to history and the integration of displacements between images, sculpture and space”. The opening is proceeded by an artist’s talk at 6:30pm, with the launch scheduled for 7:30pm until 9pm.   • Base 1 Art IMMA Project

    Opening today at 1pm and running until April 6th in IMMA is Symbiosis – the end of year exhibition for 1st years in IADT’s BA Hons. Art programme. The students are due to graduate in 2020 and Symbiosis marks a pivotal moment in their practices.     Featuring a triumvirate of Italian artists, Riccardo Giacconi, Invernomuto and Luca Trevisani, with guest curation by fellow Italian Manuela Pacella, Lost in Narration is an exciting new exhibition on in Belfast’s The MAC. While the players may be of Italian origin, the subject matter leaves the confines of Europe and discuss events in Columbia, Jamaica, Ethiopia and Kenya. Though the individual narratives within each project are disparate, a continuity across the work prevails, and one that is reinforced through their research lead practices.
