  • Watch: New Jackson – Romancecar (Homeway)

New Jackson has shared an abstract, nostalgic video for ‘Romancecar (Homeway)’. The track, which closed the Dublin artist AKA David Kitt‘s recent Romancecar EP on Permanent Vacation with a gorgeous ambient flourish, piqued the interests of filmmaker Jack Ashley, who has created a collage-like video comprised of images of two amateur dancers he filmed in south London, as well as the bric-a-brac that filled their home. It’s a touching, minimal affair and makes for a perfect companion for the track’s synth swells and weaving chimes. “I heard David’s EP and was super keen to reach out to him,” says Ashley of the video.…

  • David Kitt – Like Lightning

David Kitt rounded off the first quarter of 2018 with Yous, a welcomed return to the sound he’s cultivated over the last two decades. The Dublin-based musician greets the autumn with Like Lightning, a six track EP led by the title-track which was originally featured on the quietly acclaimed album that preceded it. Like Lightning offers fans of Kitt’s varied repertoire of records under his own name an introduction to his more immediately electronic New Jackson material. On the surface, this EP could be construed as a compilation of B-sides and offcuts from the Yous recording sessions. These five songs…

  • David Kitt shares spellbinding new video for ‘Cling Film’: Watch

David Kitt has shared a spellbinding new video for ‘Cling Film’, lifted off his triumphant Yous LP from March this year, released via All City. The video finds Kitt teaming up with visual artists D.A.D.D.Y – Mike Ahern and Enda Loughman – in a hypnotic, floral trip. You may remember the pair for their video for Jape’s ‘Floating’ way back in 2004. “As long time fans of David’s we were excited for the release of his new record Yous and talked to him about making something for the track ‘Cling Film’,” explain Ahern and Loughman. “Although when it finally came about we were in intense pre-production…

  • David Kitt – Yous

In January of 2017, David Kitt shared an album that would only be available to stream for a week. A throwaway project of sorts, a means to share new material recorded since The Nightsaver, released seven years prior. The initial brevity of Yous predated the release of From Night To Night, the debut LP from Kitt’s techno project, New Jackson by only by a few months. The songs, however, are remarkably different. One provides a passport to escapism, the other eases your return to reality. That is not to say there are boundaries enforced preventing one from getting lost amongst…
