Bombay Bicycle Club are set for two Irish appearances in August. As well as joining the bill for the (sold-out) All Together Now in Cork, play the festival on August 4th, the London quartet will also play a headline show Cork Opera House on August 3. English 2 Tone legends The Specials will play Bangor’s Open House festival in the summer. The Terry Hall-fronted band – who released their long-awaited eighth studio album, Encore, last month – will play the seafront as part of this year’s festival on Sunday, August 25. Belfast punk legends Stiff Little Fingers will play two Irish shows in August. The Jake Burns-fronted quartet will play Dublin’s Academy on Friday, August 23 and Belfast’s Custom House Square – alongside New Model Army, Therapy?, The Toy Dolls and a DJ set from Terri Hooley – on Saturday, August 24. Re-emerging English-French avant-pop heroes Stereolab have announce two Irish shows. Having went on hiatus in 2009, the band will return to play a series of dates in 2019, including Belfast’s Empire Music Hall on June 24 and Vicar Street in Dublin on June 25. Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday.

L.A. trio Mini Mansions have announced a show in Dublin. The band, comprised of Michael Shuman, Zach Dawes and Tyler Parkford, will play Whelan’s on Wednesday, May 8th. Arizona alternative rock heroes Meat Puppets will play three dates in Ireland in June. The band – who formed in 1980 by brothers Curt and Cris Kirkwood with Derrick Bostrom – will play Limerick’s Dolan’s on June 7, Belfast’s Empire Music Hall on June 8 and Whelan’s in Dublin on June 9. The shows will take place as part of a tour marking the band’s new album, Dusty Notes, which will feature the band’s original line-up for the first time since 1995. Dublin’s 3Arena will play hosted to one one of the strongest bills of the year in May.
