  • Watch: GO WOLF – One More Night

Set to support Wild Beasts at Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival tonight (May 8), Belfast-based indie-pop band GO WOLF have unveiled the video to their new single, ‘One More Night’. Directed by Babysweet, the video features three female actresses “being” GO WOLF, with the band lending a helping hand along the way. Pretty cool concept, we reckon. Recorded and produced by Rocky O’Reilly at Start Together Studios, Belfast, ‘One More Night’ was mastered by Robin Schmidt. Watch the video for the single below.

  • Stream: GO WOLF – One More Night

Having recently (and very deservedly) secured the support slot for Wild Beasts at Belfast’s Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival on May 8, Belfast indie-pop band GO WOLF have released a slick new track, ‘One More Night’. Set for release on June 2, the song – recorded by Rocky O’Reilly at Start Together Studios and mastered by Robin Schmidt of 24-96 Mastering – charges forth confidently, gleaming synth-lines and bobbing rhythms meshing to form a strong three and half minutes, its main earworming melody lingering in the mind well after a first spin (which is no bad thing, of course). Check out the…

  • Gig of the Week: Little Bear, Go Wolf, The Couth @ The Oh Yeah Centre

The sole Northern Irish event taking place as part of Independent Music Week 2014, fast-rising Derry quartet Little Bear, Belfast indie-pop band Go Wolf and Lisburn garage-rock band The Couth will play our Gig of the Week at Belfast’s Oh Yeah Centre on Thursday, January 30. Running from January 28 to February 2, eighteen venues from across the UK will take part in the inaugural celebration of independent gig venues. “The struggle to compete with large, sponsor-backed venues makes it a tough and challenging time for independents,” said the project’s organiser Sybil Bell. “Combine this with bands finding it harder…

  • The Thin Air’s Top 100 Irish Tracks of 2013 (35-1)

Sixty-five increasingly exceptional songs in, we’re pleased to round up our first ever countdown of the Top 100 Irish Tracks of the year. Truth be told, this list could have been much, much longesear – such was the extent and quality of the output from our homegrown musical talent over the last twelve months. From unassuming bedroom artists treading the often very thin line between absolute anonymity and mass recognition to genre-defining, decades-spanning bands that fall comfortably under “legendary” status, we’ve been very happily bombarded with some truly extraordinary Irish music over the last year. Until next time… listen, enjoy…

  • London Grammar, Go Wolf @ Limelight, Belfast

London Grammar are what you’d call a success story. An indie band that had nothing whatsoever in terms of recorded output this time last year now find themselves with a number two debut album, a top 20 single and a near-sell out UK tour under their belts. This kind of instant and successful leap into the collective conscience is, presumably, what we refer to when we talk about bands ‘making it’ – and it just so happens that tonight’s support act is a band from Northern Ireland who have been tipped for big things themselves. Whilst Go Wolf‘s style couldn’t…
